Call for Papers

The Fifth Conference of the International Association for Tourism Economics (IATE 2015) provides an opportunity for researchers, scholars and practitioners to exchange ideas on key research issue in the field of tourism economics.

 

Papers that address applied issues on the field of tourism economics using rigorous techniques of analysis, as well as papers that make methodological or theoretical contributions in this area, are welcome. The process of selection will be based on scientific quality and relevance for economic and management policy. In particular, papers related to the following fields are particularly welcome:

 

  •  Economic modelling of tourism

  •  Tourism competitiveness

  •  Tourism and the environment

  •  Climate change and tourism

  •  Economic analysis of tourism demand 

  •  Tourism, economic growth and development

  •  Innovation in tourism

  •  The economic contribution or impact of tourism

  •  Tourism, labour markets and human capital

  •  Tourism policy / taxation

  •  The economics of tourism supply

  •  The economics of special events

 

Key Dates

 

Extended deadline for abstract submission: 31 January 2015

Extended deadline for full papers submission: 15 March 2015

 

Submission and Paper Selection

 

Researchers can select one of the following two options:

 

  1. Submit an abstract of between 300 and 1,000 words no later than 31 January 2015. Abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee and authors notified of the acceptance by 15 March 2015. Early submission of abstracts is encouraged in order to expedite the review process for those needing advanced notification of the status of their submission. Researchers who have had their abstract accepted need not submit a full paper if they prefer not to do so.

  2. Submit a full paper for review no later than 15 March 2015. All full papers will be eligible for the best paper award and potential inclusion in a special focus of Tourism Economics.

Selected papers will, with the author(s)’s permission, be included, subject to review by the journal, in a special edition of the international peer-reviewed journal Tourism Economics. All papers should be submitted using the format requirements in the Author Guidelines section of Tourism Economics website at: http://www.ippublishing.com/te.htm.
